How to Travel with your Kitty
Ever thought of traveling with your cat, but the trials and tribulations seemed too much? Fortunately, our host Megan Blake and her cat, Tout Suite, have logged over 50,000 miles together.

Megan's Top Paws Button Travel Tips:
1. You can't use curbside check-in!...you must go inside and tell them you have a cabin pet as excess baggage.
2. The size of the crate is critical because: a) the cat should be comfortable, and b) you must meet the airline's size requirements.
3. Only so many pets are allowed on each flight, so be sure to book well in advance. You must call the airline ON THE PHONE.
4. When going through security, place your carry-on bags on the belt, then take your cat out of the crate and remain calm. Your cat will take cues from you.
5. Hold your cat against your body with paws facing away from you. Hold the two front paws with a light grip: Megan's "Security Grip."
6. Before you take a trip, get your pet comfortable with his/her crate ahead of time. Put a favorite toy or one of your T-shirts inside. |
