Rags to Ringing Applause!
FEATURED RESCUE DOG: Happy Girl

Back in the spring of 2000, Lawrence Frederick got a call from some 4th-grade kids at Stockton Elementary School in Jacksonville, Florida. Seems that a little black-and-white dog was hiding under one of the portable school annex buildings. Sick and emaciated, the Australian Shepherd had been abandoned by its original owners and was being kept alive by scraps of food leftover from the kids' lunch.
Lawrence named the little dog "Happy Girl" because of her indomitable spirit. In spite of a nearly fatal case of heart worms and kennel cough, Happy Girl was able to recover fully in about six months. Lawrence took her into his "family" of Frisbee dog performers, Disc Connected K-9's and began to give Happy Girl's boundless energy a new outlet.
By April of 2001, Happy Girl entered the National Frisbee Dog Championships and eventually became the 5th overall champion in the entire world! She has qualified for the world finals five straight years in a row!!
You can see more details of Happy Girl and her other amazing Frisbee Dog family members performing in Episode # 8 of Animal Attractions TV.
